How to get traffic and recognition for your website?

I created a website recently (a href="http://www.notecram.com)" rel="nofollow"http://www.notecram.com)/a and I was wondering good ways to get traffic on my website. I've looked into SEO, creating a Facebook page, and such, but none of it seems to work for me. Any tips?
