Am I rightful for reacting this way or being a little whiny snag? Or a mixture of the two?

Unfortunately sometimes people will do whatever an upperclmen says because they think it will make them more popular. Sometimes teachers are no better. They want the popular kids to like them because they have nothing else in their lives. Sometimes people are just petty and make no sense. Take heart - high school is only a small part of your life!
