Dentist messed up my teeth, he scrapped off the enamel with the drill and left groves, what can i do?

I just went to the dentist two days ago he gave me two fillings...he only took 10-15 min for both and while he was doing it he hit my lip with the sharp drill and slipped onto the side of my tooth while drilling. he told me to bite down at the end and it felt weird so he sanded it down more i guess. Then when i walked out i noticed that the groves in my teeth were more deep and were really sharp....it didnt feel like any other of my feelings. And to top it off there was a rough spot on the outside of my tooth. i thought it was just leftover filling but its still there. i looked in the mirror today and i can see groves on the outside of my tooth, its probably from were he slipped... Now when i chew gum the sweetness really makes it hurt and im scared that my enamels is gone forever. I don't know what to do i don't want to go back to the same dentist because he might try to cover up that he messed it up.... what can i do???? is my tooth permanently ruined..???
